Got it!

CANCELLED - Zsolnay Light Art Mapping Competition

Announcement!

The Zsolnay Light Festival will continue today as usual, with the exception of two locations.

Early Friday evening, two tree branches were blown down by gale-force winds at the Sétatér in Pécs, one of the venues of the Zsolnay Light Festival. There were no injuries to persons or damage to property. The Sétater was closed as a precautionary measure for the safety of visitors, so the Zsolnay Light Art Video Mapping competition at the Cathedral will be cancelled today and the Cella Septichora will not be open to the public.

All other festival venues and programmes will continue to operate without disruption. The organisers highly recommend the programmes of the Zsolnay Quarter and the Kodály Centre.

The festival is cooperating with the authorities and the meteorological service.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Zsolnay Light Art Mapping Competition is the biggest attraction of the four-day festival, which will conjure up stunning light works on the monumental facade of the Pécs Cathedral every evening. This year, Hungarian, Czech, Polish and Bulgarian artists will compete for the audience's attention. The theme of this year's competition coincides with the central theme of the festival.

NO//BODY

Light as a medium of artistic expression is very closely linked to the themes of incorporeality, immateriality and intangibility, its ability to create form and affect us without being physically tangible. The artistic theme of this year's festival - NO//BODY - seeks reflections on the changes taking place in our everyday lives in real and virtual space through the potential of light and digital art.
